NOTE: If you do not possess a Possession and Acquisition license (aka PAL) you MUST have 2 people in your party so bring a friend along.
The only people that are allowed to shoot by themselves are those that have a PAL.
Since there's been a ton of controversy in the last few days regarding gun threads and deals, for anyone that isn't licensed but wants to try out a firearm to see what all the fuss is about, the local shooting range here in GVRD (PoCo) is having a deal right now on Groupon for a day pass to the range with 1 box of 9mm ammunition for $39. This includes an instructional course on how to safely handle firearms (this is not the PAL course, just a few safety steps to ensure safety) and the rental of all the firearms they have in any caliber. If you want to test out anything other than 9mm you'll have to buy a box of that particular caliber though. They have everything from 22LR to 50AE and 500S&W as well as shotgun. Due to the design of the range however, you will not be able to shoot a rifle that isn't chambered in a pistol cartridge. They do have an AR15 there that is chambered in 9mm as well as 22LR.
Normal pricing for admission is $30 and a box of 9mm is $35. This brings your first box down to $9 which is actually below what you could buy it for in store if you had a PAL so this deal is pretty good even if you do have a PAL.
May as well go in and try some of the range firearms to see what else you want to buy.
