This is an insane deal for a force feedback flight yoke. Currently there is nothing like this on the market for less than probably 5-10 times the price. If the Kickstarter is to be trusted, this yoke is the same quality as the yoke in a certified flight simulator, which costs about $150/hr to rent. The price difference is due to their breakthrough technology using magnets instead of complicated mechanical internals. On top of that everything is highly modular/standardized and open source, so you can tinker and upgrade. They already have working awesome prototypes and are basically ready for manufacturing.
Currently the only consumer flight sim equipment with force feedback whatsoever is the Logitech G940, and it is TOTAL CRAP. It has various crippling design defects so every single unit ships defective and unusable, and Logitech knows and will do nothing about it except exchange for another defective unit. Plus it was never meant to be accurate in the first place.
This Kickstarter product will be the only worthwhile way to flight sim at home (unless you're just practicing instruments and such); currently there is NONE unless you spend many thousands. This is a much-needed advancement in flight sim technology, and I really want to see this project succeed.
13 left at $550, then the price goes to $600 for the next 50 units, etc. 10 days left to raise just over $50000 or this will never happen.
I'm not affiliated with this project in any way.
