Furminator is the kind of brush that dog show types use. It removes/grooms hair so well that "brush" doesn't describe it. It looks like a flea brush with very fine tines. Because it is so powerful, it should be used maybe once a week on your pet. It removes loose hair that you didn't know was there. It will save your cat from furballs. It will give you bonding time with your pet. It will scratch and hurt your pet if you aren't careful with it. So don't be a doofus, Furminator is serious business.
Highly recommended by me! I think this is the older model without the button that pushes hair off the brush. Hair comes off effortlessly anyway, so that feature is a gimmick.
IMO if your cat has ever had a hairball, you OWE it to them to use this brush. After seeing how well it works, I don't think it is humane anymore to let them eat that stuff unnecessarily.
In your local pet store this goes for more like $75. On ebay they are around $25 +/-$10, that is if you can hunt one down from a vendor that isn't sketchy. The larger brush sizes (for dogs only please) cost more normally, but are still only $25 during the kijiji deal.
Good luck and have fun taking care of those who need you!
